How to find peace and release frustration NOW!

Feeling stuck, trapped or sidelined?
Are you emotionally up against a wall?

Well then, make peace with where you are. Sound to easy to be true?

Let me shed some light on the art of making peace.

Peace meditation at bottom of post

Making peace with where you are does not mean rolling over and giving in, nor selling yourself out in any way. Consider the possibility you are being called to open to a new way of doing things or to make new choices.

How do you know it’s time to strike a peace treaty with yourself?

Tightness of frustration has set up camp in your jaw, throat and chest.
•  Your dominant thoughts are about being anywhere other than you are right now.
•  Roadblocks and detours are around every corner.
•  You feel heavy and stuck.
•  Emotionally, you feel up against the wall.
•  Seems like you are out of choices.

You’re at your wits end. You’ve tried everything and you’re still feeling the stinging bite of FRUSTRATION.

The value of making peace with where you are is that you become present and remember what is true for you. Freedom, harmony, and flow return to your life.

(Clue:  You will not find it anywhere outside of yourself.)

How to make peace….

The key is surrendering resistance.

Surrender is that magic that allows freedom. Freedom is an inside job! When you are not at peace with where you are  or what you are doing, it’s easy to feel trapped.  As you surrender resistance, the fog will lift and bring some clarity, giving you room to breathe and truly see.

Surrender is an inner call to go deeper. It is not giving up! It is giving your mind to your heart,  reconnecting to Spirit, the Divine, God, the Universe, higher self…..

With surrender, you regain integrity with your own fine self.

Resistance is a powerful form of intention. Resistance is voting for the status quo with all you’ve got! As the saying goes, “What you resist persists.“  When you feed heaping helpings of fuel upon what  you perceive is driving you crazy naturally — it seems bigger and louder.

When you surrender, that is, let go of resistance,  you can take responsibility. Now, responsibly sometimes feels heavy and gets a bad rap. I want to invite you to see it rather as the ability to respond…… Respond -  ability. Making peace with where you are is taking ownership of your life. It empowers you to consciously respond rather than react unconsciously.

What gives us a greater ability to make peace with where we are?

It’s an inside job — it’s being grounded in our core purpose or mission.

How does being reconnected with the purpose of why you are doing what you are doing open the door to peace?

Being grounded in our purpose gives us the rudder we need to stay the course, no matter what the weather of life may bring. No matter how fast or slow things seem to go or how high the seas get — we don’t blame where we are on the weather. Instead we have a deep place to navigate from. Knowing and navigating from our sense purpose or mission allows us to align from the inside out. It gives us the clarity to navigate and to be wiling to change how we do what we do, and to get where we are going — while staying true to the purpose of our journey.

Recently I bumped up against resistance big time with a new business project. I had timelines set for myself, collaborative meetings arranged and information to gather and disseminate. I was passionate and aligned with what I was doing, but it was just not coming together fast enough. I felt  frustration take over my throat and upper chest. Soon, everything else in my life felt like it was getting in the way of project. The last straw was when the solace of my sacred work space was eclipsed by chaos when my partner decided to put new tile in our kitchen and bathroom. I now had a loud and messy work zone in my home! Even though it only took a couple days, those were the days I had once again planned to  finally make the new timeline on the project

I felt up against another roadblock and I emotionally hit the wall. I had become outer-focused and had lost my sense of living from the INSIDE out. A major resistance party was underway!

It became loud and clear that it was time for a peace treaty. I sat down and dropped into the wisdom of my heart and got the clear message that this project was going to unfold in its own sweet time and that I needed to get out of my own way. I needed to let it go and make peace with where I was.

Here is the Peace making mediation process I created and use to surrender resistance and reconnect with my purpose – mission. Works like a charm….

May you find this useful. I would love you to share your experience!

If it is not a really big YES….then it’s a NO.

When do you say YES? When do you say NO? Where are you when you are in between?

My motto: If it is not a really big YES then it’s a NO. That doesn’t mean that NO is the end of the line, finito, all done bye bye now.

NO has every right to step up and become a really big YES, if that is its true calling. You see, if it is not a really big YES and you’re not dealing the NO card… where are you? Limbo land. Now, I am not a black and white kind of gal at all! There are many shades of gray in my world, but those pesky non – YES’s that you’re not slapping a NO sticker on are gobbling up your energy like nobody’s business…seriously. It all boils down to telling yourself the Truth.

My Vedic Astrology Mentor Dennis Flaherty says “Good decisions are not made, they are arrived at.”

How do you know when it is a really big Yes?

It feels right in your bones and in your gut.
Future possibilities effortlessly unfurl.
There is no more second-guessing. Doubt evaporates.
NO has left the party and is nowhere in sight.
You light up like sunshine!
YES chooses you.

When you commit to YES.

There is glorious movement.
There is a visceral feeling of going with the flow.
All forces seem to gather under your wings and you begin to fly!
The ball rolls downhill instead of you pushing it uphill.
Your heart strings are in tune and playing a new song.                                                                              It flat out feels fabulous.

When you don’t know if it is a YES or a NO?

Confusion prevails while you vacillate and feel unsure.
You seek for an answer outside yourself.
You are should-ing all over yourself.
How has captured your attention.
Frustration enters the party.
Stuck-ness prevails.

What happens when you say NO?

Freedom. You can be present with what is.
By closing the NO door YOU are available for another door to open.
Stuck-ness disappears. Deeper breaths!
Essentially you’ve said YES to what you really desire.

A few months back I was working with a group of people on a common mission that I believed in. So much about my involvement was really great but, as time went on, there was something that just did not feel right. For a while, I could not quite put my finger on it. Then I realized I was no longer in the really big YES zone….I had entered limbo landFrustration was the undercurrent of my experience. I didn’t feel like I had the time or energy for some of my own projects that were calling me, and I felt stuck. So me, myself and I had a little sit down and fessed up the honest – to – God TRUTH. Continuing to participate was not even in the neighborhood of  a really big YES anymore. It was time to say NO.

Oh my, what transpired was wild.

The NO door shut and so many really big YES doors flung open! I met some resistance when I shared my NO, but because I was speaking my truth and not making anyone else wrong the resistance dissolved and shifted to completion. Deep breaths were breathing me again.

By saying NO when it is not a really big YES you are back in the river of flow. That seemingly same choice may even come floating by looking all shiny, brand new and wearing a really big YES tee shirt that is just your size.

The key ingredient to mix in your decision cocktail…is Trust. Trust in YOU! Trust lives inside, not outside of you. You have to dive inside to hold hands with Trust and develop a deep intimacy with its strength and power.

Recommendations: Frequent visits to your center of wisdom…your heart. By dropping your brilliant mind down into your ever so wise heart and trusting in what answers that you access there. That is where the answers from your soul often come through.  It takes Trust to move on to what you feels right and true for YOU.

Have you heard? Slow is the new is the new fast.

Ahhh… there is nothing like the feel of swift, sweet, exciting movement. The motor is purring. She’s all gassed up, shiny, sexy and looking real good. The perfect tunes are jamming and you’re feeling the freedom. The scent of adventure is in the air. Step on the gas and away you go…. Wow, I sure love that feeling! How about you?

Recently I noticed my wheels were spinning. It was like  I couldn’t quite get enough traction unless I…

S-L-O-W-E-D – D-O-W-N

In my neck of the woods, Seattle WA, we had a few days of snow this past week. It only snows here a couple times a winter. We are just not set up for snow here, so everything comes to a halt. A time out. I used it for a time in.

I have a 4 wheel drive for occasions like this.  I like knowing I can get around if I need to and am willing to go S-L-O-W enough to get some traction and feel the connection with the road.

You know how 50 is the new 40? Well slow is the new fast. Let’s face it, when we are Read more

The baby is birthed & a tribute to my team!

Whoo hoo!! The baby has birthed. My new website is live and I am thrilled you are here!

This baby was a bit overdue. It was so robust, it took its own sweet time to come out for a visible life of its own. When I was pregnant with both of my children, I remember feeling that divine seed growing in me. I was so excited and relieved when my belly started to show signs of new life. Finally there was proof that something was really happening.

When my Dear Ones were born and I could touch their sweetness, gaze into their eyes, and glimpse their souls, I experienced exquisite fulfillment. Something beyond me had come through me,  far greater than I ever imagined. It then became apparent they had a life of their own.

In the true spirit of creation…..any idea, project or creative endeavor is Read more

Happy New Year! Align with your true intentions.

Wow! Can you believe it? 2012 is here.

We are standing at the precipice of a whole new beginning. We have come through the dark of the solstice into the beginning light of the new year. The stillness of winter awaits. You may be feeling a little wrung out. Birth and rebirth can have that effect on us. Or is it the abundance of celebratory meals, cookies, pie and libation you are feeling?

We birth into this world apparently naked, possessing no-thing, but ever so abundant in our birth rights: love, freedom, peace, joy, passion, connection……essentially our wholeness! There is an inherent trust that all our needs and desires with be met. Have you lost this great knowing or some part of it along the way? Read more

Soul~stice Time! Loss or Liberation….You get to decide.

Hang on — things are moving fast, and what is not working for us anymore shows up big and loud. It comes on fast and sometimes furious and feels like we are in what I call the “big squeeze.“  That is when things have gotten really complicated or dramatic. It’s a sign of the inner times — not the outer times. It may feel like something outside of you is giving you thebig squeeze.” It is soul growth you are feeling. Read more

Gratitude is an attitude

Thank you. We say and hear it how many times a day? Does it really sink in and have much meaning? Does it really make an impression in your heart very often?

I am grateful for you, my family, home, and this food.
Nice….ho hum.

Give your “thank you’s” some attitude by adding the power of your heart to your gratitude.  Tell yourself “why” you are grateful and how it makes your life more wonderful. Read more

Autumn – a time for change

I invite you to ask yourself this potent question:

What would be most useful to let go of?

Let me know what you discover!

Much Love,

Prema

What time is it?

They say we have an extra hour today. Really? I find time the perception of it quite fascinating.

So where are we racing to? Where is the finish line?

Do we really have yesterday or tomorrow?

The ancient yogis measured time in breaths. The goal was how few breaths could one take in a life time, not how many. Slowing down allows us to be more present, which is a gift all unto its self. When we are present, time magically expands.

No more racing for me. What is this a good time for? That is the question I am living with. I invite you to join me on this timely adventure. Take a deep breath and ask yourself “what is this a good time for”? Trust what your answer. Go forth and live into it fully!

I look forward to hearing what you discover!

Much Love,

Prema
