How to find peace and release frustration NOW!
Feeling stuck, trapped or sidelined?
Are you emotionally up against a wall?
Well then, make peace with where you are. Sound to easy to be true?
Let me shed some light on the art of making peace.
Peace meditation at bottom of post
Making peace with where you are does not mean rolling over and giving in, nor selling yourself out in any way. Consider the possibility you are being called to open to a new way of doing things or to make new choices.
How do you know it’s time to strike a peace treaty with yourself?
• Tightness of frustration has set up camp in your jaw, throat and chest.
• Your dominant thoughts are about being anywhere other than you are right now.
• Roadblocks and detours are around every corner.
• You feel heavy and stuck.
• Emotionally, you feel up against the wall.
• Seems like you are out of choices.
You’re at your wits end. You’ve tried everything and you’re still feeling the stinging bite of FRUSTRATION.
The value of making peace with where you are is that you become present and remember what is true for you. Freedom, harmony, and flow return to your life.
(Clue: You will not find it anywhere outside of yourself.)
How to make peace….
The key is surrendering resistance.
Surrender is that magic that allows freedom. Freedom is an inside job! When you are not at peace with where you are or what you are doing, it’s easy to feel trapped. As you surrender resistance, the fog will lift and bring some clarity, giving you room to breathe and truly see.
Surrender is an inner call to go deeper. It is not giving up! It is giving your mind to your heart, reconnecting to Spirit, the Divine, God, the Universe, higher self…..
With surrender, you regain integrity with your own fine self.
Resistance is a powerful form of intention. Resistance is voting for the status quo with all you’ve got! As the saying goes, “What you resist persists.“ When you feed heaping helpings of fuel upon what you perceive is driving you crazy — naturally — it seems bigger and louder.
When you surrender, that is, let go of resistance, you can take responsibility. Now, responsibly sometimes feels heavy and gets a bad rap. I want to invite you to see it rather as the ability to respond…… Respond - ability. Making peace with where you are is taking ownership of your life. It empowers you to consciously respond rather than react unconsciously.
What gives us a greater ability to make peace with where we are?
It’s an inside job — it’s being grounded in our core purpose or mission.
How does being reconnected with the purpose of why you are doing what you are doing open the door to peace?
Being grounded in our purpose gives us the rudder we need to stay the course, no matter what the weather of life may bring. No matter how fast or slow things seem to go or how high the seas get — we don’t blame where we are on the weather. Instead we have a deep place to navigate from. Knowing and navigating from our sense purpose or mission allows us to align from the inside out. It gives us the clarity to navigate and to be wiling to change how we do what we do, and to get where we are going — while staying true to the purpose of our journey.
Recently I bumped up against resistance big time with a new business project. I had timelines set for myself, collaborative meetings arranged and information to gather and disseminate. I was passionate and aligned with what I was doing, but it was just not coming together fast enough. I felt frustration take over my throat and upper chest. Soon, everything else in my life felt like it was getting in the way of project. The last straw was when the solace of my sacred work space was eclipsed by chaos when my partner decided to put new tile in our kitchen and bathroom. I now had a loud and messy work zone in my home! Even though it only took a couple days, those were the days I had once again planned to finally make the new timeline on the project.
I felt up against another roadblock and I emotionally hit the wall. I had become outer-focused and had lost my sense of living from the INSIDE out. A major resistance party was underway!
It became loud and clear that it was time for a peace treaty. I sat down and dropped into the wisdom of my heart and got the clear message that this project was going to unfold in its own sweet time and that I needed to get out of my own way. I needed to let it go and make peace with where I was.
Here is the Peace making mediation process I created and use to surrender resistance and reconnect with my purpose – mission. Works like a charm….
May you find this useful. I would love you to share your experience!
