My First 1/2 Marathon was a Business Upgrade… Who Knew?

My First 1/2 Marathon was a Business Upgrade. Who Knew?

I just ran my first half marathon. Wow… it was a big accomplishment for me. Although I keep myself quite physically fit and was a runner in my late teens and early twenties, because of injuries, I didn’t think I could run anymore, let alone do a marathon.

I’m thrilled to say I did it!

There is a lot you learn about yourself when you take yourself to your edge physically, whether it’s running, swimming, biking, or on the yoga mat. I believe that to grow you need to live on your “healthy edge”. This is where you are challenging or stretching yourself to grow from where you comfortably are, to your next best level. This is mostly about growing your mindset.

It’s not about pushing or hurting yourself, it’s about living into your full potential and becoming who you are meant to be.

There was a point about three miles into the marathon that I started to see runners passing me going the opposite direction toward the finish line. I thought the course was set up so that you ran six and a half miles in one direction and turned around and came back. When I saw those runners coming toward me I was seriously impressed, inspired, and a bit dumbfounded that what they were doing was even possible. Then a wave of emotion washed over me and I wondered if I could really finish the race.

Those runners ahead were cheering me on and my daughter Allegra and friend Devani, who I was running with, were cheering me on. Within the next mile I was making the turn and heading in the same direction as all those super humans. The course was not designed as I had thought, and I was not that far behind.

Here’s why I am telling you this…

I had a great realization, as I often do when I am taking myself to the “healthy edge” physically and/or mentally. It’s when I am in my own routine in life that I tend to think that I am not as far along as others in my business and when I get out and really look around, I realize not only am I doing well financially, living true to my instincts, and in lifestyle, but I am making a big difference. This realization is not about comparing myself to others, it’s about the fact that I don’t stop often enough to really notice where I am and what I’ve created… and I could be celebrating what I have manifested a heck of a lot more.

Sure, there is plenty more growth for me, and lots I want to manifest, but by recognizing what I have created and am capable of, I feel empowered to keep on going and manifest more.

It’s essential to remember that we are never alone on the journey unless we choose to be. There is always someone ahead to pull you forward and who will be right beside you to cheer you on. We’re not meant to go it alone and going it alone will keep you from your dreams.

You are so worth growing and stretching to your next healthy edge. You can manifest the money, love, or whatever your hearts desire is. Your soul knows what you are supposed to be doing. You just have to learn to listen and follow your instincts. You don’t have to go it alone.
