“Don’t you know yet? It is your light that lights the world.” ~ Rumi
Had enough of the dark? In the northern hemisphere it’s the winter solstice, the longest night of the year, and most of us are ready for the return of the light and longer days.
Let’s celebrate the return of the light and with due respect… let’s celebrate the dark. Yes the dark.
This darker time of the year is an undeniable call to draw inward and cultivate, embrace and rely on the light within. It’s a time to stoke your inner fire and get intimate with what’s ablaze in your soul – and what your soul wants you to burn away.
The call inward will take you willingly with a candle, meditation cushion, fireplace, good book or warm bed. With resistance, the call to turn inward will take you down with exhaustion, sickness or even depression. The choice is yours, so choose wisely.
The solstice is a gateway, much like stepping through the eye of the needle. You must pause and check your excess baggage at the door to lighten your load. And with where you’re going – serving the world by shining your divine gifts brighter than you ever have, you’ll need to carry a lighter load.
I’ve been called to put down the heavy baggage of doing what’s not mine to do. I can’t be all things to all people. I’ve known that, but hadn’t fully integrated it. Well, now I have no choice. Ahem, it’s the only choice I have. It’s been keeping me small. I simply can’t afford to be small. There’s nothing small about my soul power (or yours). I have a big mission. It’s imperative that I free up my energy to fully embody my divine gifts, so I can shine my light doing the work in the world that only I can do.
Mercury Retrograde is in full swing and will escort us right into the new year. December 19th – January 8th. Mercury is the great communicator, and with the energy of retrograde combined with the solstice, you’re primed for a deep soul talk with yourself.
Here are a few soul questions that will take you right to the heart of the truth, so you can step lightly through the eye of the needle and shine brighter than ever. You’re worth it!
Get something to write with. Light a candle.
1) Close your eyes, put your hand on your heart and take a few breaths to center.
2) Take a moment to connect with your purpose and mission. (It’s ok if you don’t know exactly what it is.)
Imagine what it would feel like to be inspired, light and free to shine brightly using your divine gifts to fulfill your purpose and mission.
3) Now… tell yourself the truth. In order to feel this way, and fulfill my purpose and mission, what baggage do I need to put down and be done with?
Awareness Proceeds Change
4) Tell yourself the truth. What’s one inspired action that I could take that will support me in being done with this?
Do that. Do it now!
Post in the comments below and let me know what you are done with.
Much Love,
